Abstract

This study was carried out to propose a data for Hearing Conservation Program, investigated the correlation of the sound pressure level over all frequency range with the hearing impairment by each age group. In addition, made up a question on the labor and management. This survey was conducted on 77 workers in metalgoods factory.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. By age group, The older age and duration of service were, the more severe hearing impairment was.
2. The values of BI(Binaural Impairment) by age group ranged from 3.9% for the 30~39 age group, 8.4% for the 40~49 age group , up to 13.5% for the 50~59 age group.
3. The values of BI by process group increased in proportion to the sound pressure level in worksite. The values of BI were 10.05%(Hat process), 7.05%(Nut process), and 2.7% (Bolt process).
4. There was a striking difference in consciousness between the labor and management.
